If you are someone who likes to keep a toe in the world of work but also wants a book that helps you in all parts of your life, then let me recommend two people to you.
The reason I say people is it doesn’t matter what you read or listen to by them, you will learn and be able to use their expertise in many aspects of your life.
The first person is Zig Ziglar. If I had to pick one it would be ‘Secrets of Closing the Sale’. It of course looks at the art of the element that gets you paid and it makes you consider that, whilst at the same time reflects on all that must come before the Close.
You can listen to any, yes any single one of his audio books and talks. You can buy some Zig stuff new, it may need to shipped from the US if you are reading this in Europe, or you can buy used copies on sites like AbeBooks and Alibris.
The second expert is Dr Robert Cialdini who wrote his most well-known book ‘Influence, The Psychology of Persuasion’ back in 1984. It is still very current as human interaction principles don’t change just the time we live in, the fashion and our surroundings - mostly!
He has a newer book ‘Presuasion’ which helps us in the digital age and he has some great audio books including ‘Yes! 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to Be Persuasive’ co-authored with Noah Goldstein.
So before you pack the car, or your suitcase, get online or order one in from your local library.
